Since then, their popularity became widespread and they are now found on most pet stores worldwide. By nature, hamsters are rodents. They have about 25 kinds or species. In the wilderness, hamsters are mostly active during twilight to avoid being caught by large predators. Their source of food are seeds, wild vegetables, fruits, small reptiles, and insects.
